Halawa underwent life-saving surgery but still needs your help.

Stray Dog Support rescued a sweet donkey from relentless working conditions. His name is Halawa. He started on an intensive course of treatment, such as antibiotics, pain relief, anti-inflammatory medication, along with fluids to rehydrate and stabilize him.

He recently underwent surgery to remove a massive tumor on his leg—and they are so relieved to share that the surgery went very well. The veterinary team was able to successfully remove the entire tumor.

Seeing it after removal was truly shocking. They knew it was large, but the actual size of the tumor was far worse than they could have imagined. Despite everything, Halawa handled the procedure incredibly well. He was sedated throughout and remained stable the entire time. His surgical site has now been cleaned and properly dressed, and he is continuing on antibiotics as part of his recovery. He is finally on the path to healing.

But this rescue urgently needs your help.

They were able to move forward with this life-saving surgery by paying on credit, but they were only given a short time to pay it off. They need to ensure they can pay off this surgery and continue providing Halawa with the aftercare he needs. No amount is too small to help precious Halawa know a life without pain. Thank you.
