Hamilton is a 7-year-old Mastiff pit mix in Fort mccoy, FL, who needs $2,800 for pain management and TPLO surgery.

This is Hammy. He was rescued from animal control by vocal and treated for multiple infections and malnutrition. He was bald and only weighed 74 pounds (he now weighs 124 pounds). Town and Country Animal Hospital gave him excellent care. We fostered and then adopted him almost two years ago. He lives with several other dogs and many cats and loves everyone.

Hammy still needs a citopoint shot monthly, his feet treated twice a day and a special diet. He is a gentle giant and loves when we foster other animals. He is everyone's big brother, so tolerant of the kittens literally walking all over him. Because he can not walk up and down stairs we just got done building him a ramp off the back porch.

Because of Hamiltons monthly expenses already we just can not afford the surgery and because of his size he has to be able to walk or he would have to be put to sleep. He has been through a lot and deserves the best care possible.

Hamilton has a ruptured cranial crucible ligament (left rear leg) and needs TPLO surgery. He started favoring that leg so he had an exam and x-rays done and he will need surgery. He is currently on two medications: one for pain and one for inflammation. He will have it done at Town and Country Animal Hospital in Ocala, FL.

Hammy has helped us foster several animals including a puppy who was born outside and was so afraid of humans but as soon as they met the puppy was Hamiltons shadow and eventually began to come out of his shell and was adopted, We ouldn't have fostered him without Hamiltons help. He's a happy gentle giant.
