Hammy, also known as Nubby, was rescued from a shelter. He loves being sung to, when I come home, he’s right there by the door waiting for me. He follows me everywhere, room to room, just wanting to be close. Honestly, he’s more like a little dog—you can call his name and he’ll come running.

Right now, Hammy is fighting a tough battle. His liver isn’t functioning properly, and he’s relying on a feeding tube along with six different medications just to keep going. Despite everything, he still shows love, strength, and trust every single day. His vet, The Glen Dale Animal Hospital, has been amazing with helping navigate his needs.

Hammy is truly one of a kind. Even people who say they don’t like cats end up falling in love with him the moment they meet him. He has that special, gentle soul and follows me all through the house. He’s incredibly gentle and affectionate, always wanting to be close. He’ll look right into your eyes like he understands everything you’re saying.
