About this campaign

Harley was named after the motorcycle because when he was a kitten he had such a loud purr. He has brought fun and snuggles to our lives for 11 years, now. He came to us as a rescue, when he was just 4 weeks old. He has been there through the birth of all three kids, divorce, lots of moves, and the growth of our family, he even tolerates the dog!

Harley is the sweetest cat, he will win your heart the moment he trusts you. He is a bit skittish, and will hide most of the day, to stay away from noisy children, but once he has accepted you as friendly, he enjoys aggressive pets all the way down his spine, and will insist that your hand simply belongs on his head.

He is practically inseparable from our other cat, Jasmine. They cuddle, fight, and ultimately love on each other constantly.
My favorite thing about Harley is how insistent he will get if he wants you to pet him. He will shove his head into your hand and head butt your wrist until he is satisfied.

Harley has a mass on his right back leg, it appears to be an injection site sarcoma. This is a very rare cancer that forms around the site of an injection, like a vaccine or microchip.
He will need further testing to confirm the sarcoma and ultimately an amputation to give him a chance at survival. We want to take this one step at a time.

I am dealing with my own sudden health decline right now. I recently developed an autoimmune disorder and am fighting for disability coverage. It would mean the world to me if I was able to keep my long time companion during this already tough time.
