Suffering Senior Dachshund, Harvey, Found Wondering the Streets with Severely Infected Wound and Mouth

Harvey's story is nothing short of heartbreaking—he was found emaciated on streets with a gaping hole in his face, a fistula in the roof of his mouth, and a severe dental infection. It is clear he has been suffering for far too long.

Unfortunately, Harvey's medical conditions are severe. The extent of the bone loss surrounding his eye means that the only option to close his facial wound is to remove that eye. This procedure is necessary to ensure his comfort and to prevent further complications.

His eye was removed, so the wound on his face was finally able to be closed, but his journey doesn’t end there. Harvey will also require a full mouth extraction to eliminate the source of his dental pain and allow him to heal completely. This process will give him the chance to experience the joy of a pain-free life.
