About this campaign
Hayden was surrendered to the shelter by his owner in May. He came with nine siblings, when they were just six weeks old. All of Hayden’s brothers and sisters have been adopted locally or placed on a transport to be adopted out of state.
If it were not for Hayden’s snort-like breathing, you’d think he’s like any other pup his age. Until recently, he still had a litter-mate to play with in his foster home.
Hayden has spent much of his young life sick, but in spite of that he is a happy puppy. He’s playful and affectionate. It’s important that we get him healthy as soon as we can, as the older he gets, the less likely it is that he’ll be chosen by a rescue or an adopter.
Shortly after arriving at the shelter, Hayden and two of his siblings showed signs of parvovirus. Not long after the infection cleared (all three survived!), he developed a breathing problem that’s baffled multiple vets. They found only congestion and inflammation. His breathing is worsening and now he needs to see a specialist.
The shelter’s adoption numbers are low, and transports are the best guarantee of a loving home for Hayden. He’s missed two already. The shelter has only a small budget for medical treatment, and most is used for transport health certificates.
