About this campaign

My family started fostering Hazel in 2013. She was on the line to be put to sleep. She quickly became the family favorite. In 2016 she attended nursing school with me. She currently rents a house living with her mom, PitBull Terrier sister and turtle sister. Hazel has a half fenced in yard with the greenest grass on the block and quite a few stray cats she likes to watch from the patio.

In the summer hazel loves to go boating and swimming on the lake. In the winter she enjoys the snow in mountains while wearing her doggoogles. Hazel likes to show her 2 year old sister, Peanut a PitBull Terrier how to be a good girl and lick all the PeanutButter. They enjoy playing outside with their dog cousin Sabrina.

Hazel has a food bowl that tells her every morning when she finishes her breakfast that she is the best dog ever. She comforts me when I am upset, she protects me when I pee, she wants all the belly rubs and booty scratches all the time. She always has a perfect dismount while getting off of the couch dragging her legs dramatically.

Hazel presented to her vet with inflammation of the lymph nodes. She got her leg shaved and had a lymph node aspiration done. The cytology came back positive for lymphoma. She was referred to CARE-Charlotte Area Referral & Emergency where they have a doggie oncologist. Her vet is suggesting CHOP which is a 25 week chemo protocol.

Hazels mom was in a life threatening car accident in Aug 2021 draining her savings. Savings for important things like doggie chemotherapy treatment. Hazels mom is still working part time hours due to her healing femur and wishes to provide the best care possible for Hazel.
