About this campaign
Hazel is a rescue cat we adopted when she was about 2 months old and have loved her ever since. She’s fed wet food twice a day, but dry food is always out. Her favorite foods are salmon and tuna. She loves to be around us, whether it’s napping on the couch, laying on a stool while we eat dinner, or following us into the bathroom. She loves attention but will also let us know when she’s had enough.
Hazel lives with a family of 4 including myself, my husband, my daughter and her boyfriend. She’s energetic and lazy at the same time. She loves to nap on the couch and under the Christmas tree, but also loves to play and sprint around the house. We have toy springs she jumps for and chases. When we get home from work, she’s waiting at the door and rolls around once we get inside.
We believe Hazel is actually a dog trapped in a cats body. She sits by the door and waits for us to get home. She rolls around on the floor and sometimes lays on her back. She’ll play fetch with her toy springs, and growls when we hold her too long. Hazel loves to play hide and seek, in our kitchen cabinets by opening the doors and climbing in.
About a year ago, she was diagnosed with stomatitis, a severe infection of the mouth. It causes extreme distress when eating, causing her to eat less. She lost half a pound over the last week. We’ve tried two medications to help with the pain, however they did not help. The only option now is teeth removal.
I am on SSDI so my husband is the only one working. We recently moved due to my disability and inability to move up and down stairs. All we want is a better quality of life for her by being able to eat pain-free.
