About this campaign
Hazel came to us one year ago as a 8 week old puppy. Our 2 kids had been asking for a puppy for years and she has been the perfect addition to our family. Our 12 year old daughter and 14 year old son are very close to Hazel and love her so much. They are devastated she is so sick. Hazel comes every where with us drop off & pick up from school.
Hazel enjoys sleeping in her parents bed. She loves walking off leash where she has a lot of space to run. Her family includes the 4 of us. She tolerates baths at home but doesn’t like swimming. We take her to the dogs park often and she is normally a little shy and likes to stay close to us. She spends her days with husband while he works From home. She follows the sun in the room.
Every time the garage door opens, Hazel sprints for the back door waiting to see who is home. You can always count on Hazel waiting at the door when you arrive home. Hazel is also very cuddly and loves sitting in your lap so she can get a rub. Our extended family has also become very close to Hazel.
Hazel needs a surgery to treat her liver shunt. The liver shunt makes it not possible for her liver to process toxins properly resulting in her being very sick right now. She is currently eating a low protein diet & has medication she takes every 8 hours to help. The only long term treatment is surgery. The total surgery will cost $5000. We have currently spent $2000 from her being in the ER.
With Hazel being so young, this needed surgery is a complete shock. We had spent a lot of money just to get to feel better enough to walk around but is she doesn’t have the surgery her long term prognosis is not long.
