About this campaign
We rescued Hefner almost 5 years ago when he was 10 months old. He is an only child and we named him after Hugh Hefner because we got him around the same time that Hugh Hefner passed away. The people we got him from had his vocal cords cut and he had heart worms. We found out 6 months after we got him and got him treated.
Hefner sleeps in bed with us. He wants to be around us all the time. He follows me around the house while I'm cleaning or cooking. He loves going for rides in the car and he goes for long walks every night. When he wants attention he will paw at you until you love on him. One of his favorite things to do is to sunbathe on his trampoline.
Hefner has a huge tub full of stuffed animals we call his babies. The ones he has outside he keeps in a neat little pile and does not like when people touch them. He likes to play when he is upside down on the bed. He wiggles around on his back and tries to get whatever he can reach. He has to be blow dried after his bath. He will "talk" to us like he is having a real conversation.
We just thought Hefner had allergies . His veterinarian, I am guessing, just assumed the same thing we did until recently. He was getting his checkup and the Vet looked at his eyes really good and told us he had entropion. Its a condition in which the eyelid rolls inward. In his case the bottom ones. It causes hair to rub against his corneas. It can cause corneal ulceration and blindness.
My husband was forced to close his business at the beginning of the pandemic. In was working, but lost my job several months ago. Now I work part time as a home health aide, but it doesnt pay much. He is working almost full time and paying all of our bills by himself.
