About this campaign

Helga and her brother Floki came to me during an out of state visit to friends and family after the loss of my long time friend of over 30yrs. The pups were living in less than ideal situation and had lost their mom at approx 4 wks old. They cried for each other whenever they were out of each other’s sight, so when asked if I would like to take them there was no option but to take them both.

I don’t know exactly how it happened but I knew I needed to take her to a vet asap. I took her to Olympia Pet Emergency Hospital and was not given good news. We could try the meds to stop infection and reduce swelling and pain but there were no guarantees that she would have any sight, but that the best thing for her would be to remove the eye at a cost of at least $3500 that I did not have.

Although it’s only been a few days and seems the swelling is going down some, This course of treatment may just be a short delay to her needing Enucleation surgery, it could get worse. To the point of either surgery or being euthanized. I can’t believe how short of a time I have become so attached to them. And Floki hates to be away from his sister and is so bonded. I’m dying inside for them.

This definitely was not expected. I was only approved for $1200 in CareCredit and almost half of that was used for the emergency appointment. Helga should not lose her life over this or suffer any longer than necessary. Please Help if you can.
