About this campaign
Arthur came into our lives after we lost our first cat, Brandon. We were heartbroken and afraid to adopt again. When a friend’s family could no longer keep Arthur because of a serious cat allergy, we didn’t want him to end up in a shelter. We adopted him, and for the past four years he has truly become part of our family.
Yesterday, Arthur suddenly began going to the litter box about every 10 minutes and struggling to urinate. We took him to the emergency vet, where he was diagnosed with a blocked urethra. He needed urgent catheterization, IV fluids, monitoring, and hospitalization. His estimated treatment cost is around $6,000.
Arthur is truly part of our family, especially to our kids, Amy and Kevin. When Amy won the Pacific District Girls Ice Hockey Championship, she came home and put her medal around Arthur’s neck—she wanted him to share her proudest moment. Arthur has been there through everyday life and our biggest milestones, bringing love and joy to our home.
The sudden $6,000 emergency bill was something we were not prepared for, but we want to give Arthur every chance to recover. Even Amy and Kevin want to help—Amy says she’ll cut back to just one boba a month, and Kevin plans to look for a job on campus. Any donation, no matter the amount, would mean so much to our family and Arthur.
