Help Athena get Torn CCL surgery — Sanford, NC

Athena is my 5 year old baby girl, I have had her since she was 8 eeeks old and saved her from parvo shortly after she came into my family. Athena is the sweetest girl who loves to cuddle with her mommy, she is very vocal and loves to lay under the blankies.

Athena has a completely torn CCL in her hind right leg that needs surgery. She has had her xrays done to confirm the next steps in her treatment plan at All Animals Veterinary Hospital in Sanford NC, where we are hoping for her to have her procedure done.

We took Athena into our family when my son was 15, she instantly bonded with him. We took her from a family that wanted to take her to a shelter and were unaware that she had parvo, we were able to save her, which only made their bond stronger. Since then Athena has grown into a sweet baby. My son is on deployment which has emotionally effected Athena, my son and myself greatly. These past couple of weeks since her injury she has not been the same playful baby she normally is, and although we have had so much more time to cuddle because of her being on strict rest we all want her to be able to run around in the yard and play in her puppy pool that she loves so much.

Our community has always been there for us, and today I am reaching out for my beloved dog, Athena. She recently torn her CCL (cranial cruciate ligament) and urgently needs surgery to walk, run, and live pain-free again. Athena is a true member of our family, and it breaks my heart to see her limping and hurting. It is incredibly humbling to ask for financial help, but my priority is getting Athena back on her feet.
