About this campaign

This is Atlas — my rescue dog, and a cattle dog through and through. He's got that classic herding instinct baked into him: he's constantly trying to "steer" me when we're out and about, nudging and positioning himself like I'm a stray cow that needs rounding up. It cracks me up every time. He's also got a ton of energy — he loves to run and play with other dogs whenever he gets the chance. Atlas came into my life as a rescue, but it didn't take long before it felt like he was the one who'd rescued me.

Atlas has an abscessed tooth that needs treatment, and left untreated it can turn into a serious infection that puts his whole health at risk.

I'm disabled, and communication has always been hard for me. Words don't come out the way I mean them to, and when I get frustrated trying to explain myself, people often read it as aggression instead of what it really is. Atlas changed that. He goes everywhere with me, and when I feel that frustration building, he's right there grounding me before things spiral. Because of him, people see a guy with his dog instead of someone "difficult." He gave me that. His recovery isn't just about his health — it's about keeping the one steady, calming presence that helps me get through the world.

I live on SSD, and there's no room in that budget for an emergency vet bill — I've tried to find a way to cover this on my own and haven't been able to. I hate asking for help; it doesn't come easy for me. But Atlas has never once hesitated to be there for me, and I'm not going to hesitate to be there for him. Any help, even small, would mean everything — and sharing this so it reaches someone who can help matters just as much.
