Autumn’s Cancer Journey: A Heartfelt Thank You ❤️🐾
Thanks to the incredible generosity of our donors and Waggle’s supporters, Autumn’s fundraiser has officially reached its $1,500 goal! I am so grateful to everyone who donated, shared her story, and helped make this possible.
Since starting this fundraiser, we’ve learned more about Autumn’s cancer. Unfortunately, additional testing confirmed that her mast cell tumor has spread from her toe to a nearby lymph node. The good news is that her veterinary team has recommended surgery to remove both the affected toe and lymph node, giving her an opportunity to continue fighting this disease.
Autumn is scheduled for a surgical consultation on October 22, followed by surgery on October 26 at Veterinary Care & Specialty Group in Chattanooga. Her treatment has become more extensive and expensive than we originally anticipated, but we’re moving forward with hope and determination.
Autumn has been my adventure buddy, hiking companion, and constant source of love for eight wonderful years. She’s still the same sweet, affectionate girl who wants to be wherever I am, and I’m doing everything I can to give her more adventures and happy days ahead.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for helping us reach this milestone. Your kindness has made a very real difference in Autumn’s journey, and I cannot express how much it means to us.
With love and gratitude,
Cecilia & Autumn 🐾❤️
About this campaign
Autumn is my eight-year-old “purebred mutt,” adopted from a local animal rescue. She's been my adventure buddy since she was 14 weeks old! She lives for hiking, camping, and exploring new places, and can barely contain her excitement at the trailhead. At home, she's my faithful gardening companion. Sweet, affectionate, and eager to please, Autumn is happiest by my side.
Autumn was diagnosed with a mast cell tumor on her front toe that has spread to a nearby lymph node. She's receiving care at Veterinary Care and Specialty Group (VCSG). An abdominal ultrasound is scheduled to check for further spread. If results allow, she needs surgery to amputate the affected toe and remove the cancerous lymph node.
Autumn is my soul dog and my emotional support animal. For eight years, she's been my constant companion through life's hardest moments and greatest adventures. we've spent years exploring mountains across the country, scrambling over rocks, and successfully harvesting a garden. She's also deeply bonded to her husky brother, Kody, who has been by her side since the day she joined our family.
After recovering from major knee surgery last year, we were finally ready for new adventures when cancer changed everything. I'm terrified of losing her, and of Kody losing his best friend.
More than anything, I want Autumn to have another chance to do what she loves. I'm not asking for forever. I'm asking for more time to give her the adventures, love, and happiness she deserves.
I'm a full-time public school teacher and part-time climbing coach. My savings have been depleted by Autumn's previous knee surgery, unexpected home repairs, and rising living expenses. I've begun using CareCredit for her cancer diagnostics, but the costs of further testing and surgery are overwhelming. I'm doing everything I can to give Autumn a fighting chance, and any support would mean the world to us.

🐾 UPDATE: AUTUMN IS HOME! ❤️
We have some wonderful news to share! Autumn underwent surgery today to remove her cancerous toe and lymph node, and her surgeon told us that “surgery could not have gone any better!” 🥹❤️
Everything went smoothly, and our girl is now home, resting comfortably and beginning her recovery. She's a little sleepy from her big day, but she's doing well!
We are still awaiting pathology results, but today was a HUGE step forward in Autumn's fight against cancer.
From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU! ❤️
To everyone who donated, shared her story, offered encouragement, or helped make this surgery possible: I cannot adequately express how grateful I am. Because of your generosity, Autumn received the care she needed, and we have so much hope for more adventures together.
Our little 17-toed adventurer has some healing to do, but she's surrounded by love and ready for her next chapter!
AUTUMN 2027: 17 TOES. ZERO LIMITS. LEGENDARY STATUS. 🐾🏔️❤️
