About this campaign
This tiny puppy was found in heartbreaking condition, so thin that every rib was visible. He was covered in fleas and ticks, extremely weak, and so terrified that he tried to hide in the grass when rescuers approached. Even more heartbreaking, Binx was found chewing on the remains of a deceased dog. Nearby was a pile of bones from the dog that had already died.
We don't know how long Binx had been struggling to survive on his own, but it was clear that he was desperately hungry and severely malnourished.
Because Binx is still just a puppy and was heavily infested with fleas and ticks, rescuers knew he needed immediate veterinary attention. Fleas and ticks can cause dangerous blood loss and anemia in a young, already-malnourished puppy, so This Is Houston rushed Binx to Vergi 24/7 for an emergency examination and monitoring.
Binx was found to be anemic, and his bloodwork needed to be closely monitored to make sure he remained stable. He was dehydrated and severely underweight, so his veterinary team began carefully rehydrating him and putting him on a controlled feeding program to help his fragile body begin recovering safely.
For the next couple of days, Binx remained under veterinary supervision while his team monitored his condition and determined what he needed to recover.
Thankfully, Binx was recently discharged from the hospital and is now continuing his recovery in a foster home. But his journey is far from over.
After surviving hunger, weakness, parasites, and unimaginable fear, Binx now needs time, nutrition, medical care, and plenty of patience to help his little body catch up. He deserves the chance to grow into a happy, healthy dog who never has to worry about where his next meal will come from.
Binx survived because someone finally stopped to help him. Now we need to help him heal. Your donation will help This Is Houston cover Binx's emergency veterinary care, bloodwork, medications, nutritional support, and ongoing recovery in foster care. Please help give this scared little puppy the safe and healthy future he deserves. 🖤
