About this campaign
Brony is just a puppy, but she is already facing a painful road to recovery.
On August 19, this young stray was brought to Baw Baw Animal Welfare after being hit in a road traffic accident. X-rays confirmed that Brony suffered a complete fracture of her left hind leg. Devastatingly, an injury that will require surgery to repair.
The catch is, right now, her broken leg isn’t the only concern.
Brony arrived heavily infested with ticks, and blood tests revealed that she is severely anemic with a dangerously low platelet count. Her little body has already been through so much, and in her current condition, she is not yet strong enough to safely undergo anesthesia and surgery.
For now, Brony’s veterinary team is focused on stabilizing her. She is receiving pain relief and supportive treatment while they work to improve her overall condition and get her strong enough to take the next critical step: repairing her fractured leg.
Every day of care brings Brony closer to that goal, but she still has a long journey ahead. She will need continued treatment, monitoring, surgery, and recovery care before this little girl can finally put this accident behind her.
Please consider donating toward Brony’s care. Your support can help Baw Baw Animal Welfare give this vulnerable puppy the treatment she needs to heal, get back on all four paws, and have the chance to grow up happy and healthy.
