Give Bubba His Second Chance

Bubba’s story began with survival.

In March 2026, when he was only about one year old, Bubba came into the care of Florida Animal Rescue Alliance (FARA) after being found with multiple wounds on his body, including an injury around his neck. His condition raised heartbreaking questions about what he may have endured before being abandoned.

But despite everything he had been through, Bubba remained affectionate, loving, and eager for human connection.

FARA stepped in to give him the care and second chance he deserved. Bubba received veterinary care, vaccinations, and was later neutered and microchipped. As we got to know him, it became clear that this young American Staffordshire Terrier/pit-type dog had plenty of love to give, but he also needed structure, consistency, exercise, enrichment, and an experienced person who could understand and support his needs.

Our wonderful volunteer, Dani, opened her home to Bubba and became his foster mom. While FARA continued working toward finding the right long-term placement, we wanted to give Bubba every opportunity to succeed.

This month, Bubba spent time at The Confident Canine in West Palm Beach, where he received professional behavioral support in a structured environment. He also received veterinary support for anxiety as he adjusted and worked through the challenges of being in a new setting.

Last week, Bubba returned to Miami and is now back with his foster mom, Dani.

And he is still waiting.

Bubba is a young, intelligent, affectionate, high-energy dog who needs the right home, not just any home. He needs someone who understands his energy level and is willing to provide consistency, structure, patience, exercise, and continued guidance.

Dogs like Bubba are often overlooked because of their size, breed type, or behavioral history. But Bubba is so much more than a label or a difficult chapter in his past.

He is resilient. He is affectionate. He is intelligent. And he deserves the opportunity to become the happy, secure companion we know he can be.

While Bubba waits for his forever family, FARA remains responsible for providing the care and resources he needs to stay healthy, safe, and thriving in foster care.

His ongoing expenses include professional behavioral support, veterinary care, anxiety medication when needed, food, exercise, enrichment, and other foster-care necessities.

While Bubba remains in foster care, these costs add up quickly. We are asking for your help so that his financial needs never stand in the way of giving him the care and support he deserves.
