Buster’s story began with a desperate plea for help from the streets of Houston.

This sweet boy was living as a stray when people in his neighborhood reportedly began encouraging their dogs to attack him. Even children were seen hitting him with sticks. By the time a kind neighbor stepped in to protect him, Buster was battered and hurting, with a deep wound above his eye, a swollen neck, and painful injuries and spray paint covering his body.

Thankfully, that neighbor refused to look away. They got Buster somewhere safe and began desperately reaching out for someone who could help him.

That plea eventually reached Sunnyside Street Dogs, and Buster’s life changed forever.

Despite everything humans had put him through, Buster remained incredibly sweet and loving. Once he realized he was finally safe, his gentle personality began to shine through. Sunnyside Street Dogs made sure he received the veterinary care, vaccinations, and support he desperately needed while his wounds—and his heart—were given time to heal.
