Help C.C. get Diaphragmatic hernia surgery — WA

C.C. began her life as a lonely stray kitten. She was found in the kitchen of an organization and handed over to the owner of Whole Pet Shop in Roslyn, WA. After some convincing, it was determined that C.C. would come live with me. Hands down the best decision I have made. After much thought and input from family, friends, and coworkers, she was named C.C. (I had failed to mention C.C. stands for "Cat Chad" after being sent a scene from Gilmore Girls.) C.C. was a fun and funny little kitten who grew up to be a loving cat, if she likes you. She can be spicy with other people.

C.C. was having trouble breathing one day and had stopped eating. She was taken in by Ol' MacDonald Farm Animal Clinic in Roslyn as an urgent patient. Through x-ray, the vets found some fluid in her chest. After a week on diuretics, she began laboring her breathing again. She was brought into Ellensburg Animal Hospital on an urgent basis and updated scans showed the fluid got worse. She was transferred to Blue Pearl Pet Hospital in Kirkland. There is was found her diaphragm had herniated and caused all her organs to shift into her abdomen and collapse her lungs.

C.C. is the most important being in my life. After I separated from the Marine Corps, I never thought I would love anything as much as I love her. I also depend on her even though she might not know it. She is my saving grace. When my PTSD symptoms have gotten really bad, she was always there to pull me back from the edge. I need her as much as she needs me.

The cost of her surgery plus all the diagnostics, medications, and overnight stays in oxygen chambers, the cost to make sure C.C. won't leave us prematurely skyrocketed at an astounding rate. The first round of scans were $400. Then the second round of scans was $700. Finally last round of scans, surgery, and overnight stays cost $12,000. The cost is a lot for just one person to bear.
