About this campaign
When Cat & Release of Palm Beach County set out to TNR a mother cat, they never expected to come home with her tiny daughter, too. The mama cat wouldn't go into the trap—but her kitten did.
Camel was feral when she was first rescued, but it didn't take long for her to discover that people could be kind. Within days, this once-frightened little kitten was becoming sweet and trusting.
But there was something concerning about Camel. She was unusually quiet. She didn't want to play. Even after a week in safety, she simply didn't seem like herself. Then her foster noticed something was wrong. Camel had a fever.
She was taken to the veterinarian, where she received fluids, medication, and liquid antibiotics to take at home. Everyone hoped that with treatment and rest, this little girl would turn the corner. But five days later, there was still no improvement.
Camel had to return to the veterinarian, where she spent the night under observation. Once again, fluids helped bring her fever down—but the underlying cause remains unknown.
Her caregivers are hoping it is simply a stubborn upper respiratory infection and nothing more serious. But until Camel's fever resolves and her condition improves, they simply don't know what they're dealing with. And that uncertainty comes with a growing veterinary bill.
Cat & Release of Palm Beach County stepped in to save Camel because she deserved the chance to grow up safe—not sick and struggling on the streets. Now they need help covering the medical care this tiny kitten has already required, including both veterinary visits, fluids, medications, hospitalization, and any additional treatment she may need.
Even the smallest glimpse of Camel's playful personality has been encouraging. In fact, after more than two weeks in care, the closest she had come to playing was reaching a tiny paw toward a bee. 🥹🐾
That little paw is a reminder of the kitten Camel could become once she feels better.
Will you help Cat & Release give her that chance? Every donation will help provide the veterinary care Camel needs while her rescuers work to uncover the cause of her persistent fever. And if you're unable to donate, sharing her story can help reach someone who can.
