About this campaign
My dog's name is Chase. I was first introduced to Chase by my friend Tracy back in December 2016. She suggested that I needed a dog after a difficult relationship breakup, and she knew of a puppy who desperately needed a better environment. Little Chase was living in a very loud home with a screaming child who kept scaring him. When I arrived, Tracy was absolutely right. Chase was so tiny he could fit in the palm of my hand, and he was terrified. I bought him from Tracy's friend right then and there, and Chase and I have been best friends ever since. Chase loves to swim, eat, and go for car rides. We love to drive around and look for other doggies going for walks so he can stick his head out the window to say hi! Whenever we go on walks, he is always so happy and loves to greet everyone he meets. Chase is almost ten years old and truly the best thing that has ever happened to me. Since his recent medical diagnosis, I have been desperately trying to find financial help so he can get the life-saving surgery he needs. We first discovered the issue during a regular checkup at Advanced Animal Hospital to have his anal glands expressed. The veterinarian found a lump on his right gland about the size of a pea. We proceeded with a biopsy, which unfortunately confirmed the mass to be Adenocarcinoma. Following that visit, we were referred to Midwest Veterinary Specialists for a surgical consultation. The specialists recommend performing x-rays and an ultrasound before moving forward with the surgery to ensure the best possible outcome. Chase is the first and only dog I have ever owned, and I am 48 years old. Before him, I had never had a dog, but he completely opened my heart. Because of Chase, I have grown to deeply love dogs and all other animals—I even have two senior cats and fish at home. Chase is only nine years old and full of life. He is such a happy dog, and I know he has so much more time left to share with the world. I want to do everything in my power to ensure he gets this critical treatment. Cancer is a terrible disease that robs families of joy, but Chase is everyone's best friend and truly deserves a second chance. I am a single-income earner doing my best to stay afloat. I am currently trying to maintain a small house with a mortgage, alongside a monthly car payment that became necessary after my previous vehicle broke down. I also care for my two older cats who are almost 15 years old and need veterinary attention for their shots and vaccines, which I am struggling to afford. To add to the stress, my kitchen is currently torn apart because a small renovation had to be put on complete hold. I live paycheck to paycheck and no longer have any savings. Professionally, I work as a prosthetic technician. While I am not a practitioner, I am the technician who builds and adjusts the prosthetics for patients. I take immense pride in my work because I know I am helping people walk again comfortably. I love giving back to my community through my career, and now I am humbly asking for help for my own best friend. Chase has given me unconditional love for nearly a decade, and I just want to give him the chance to keep fighting. Thank you so much for reading our story and for any support you can provide.

🐾 CHASE UPDATE: A Smarter Plan for His Care! 🐾
Hey Waggle family, I wanted to give everyone a quick update since our last consultation appointment. The specialist's initial estimate for a mandatory CT scan and tumor removal came back incredibly high, climbing all the way up to $7,000–$9,000. As an independent provider running my household on my own strength, I knew that corporate markup simply wasn't the smartest move for us.
Instead of panicking, I took full control of his referral records and have officially booked Chase's diagnostic ultrasound at The COVE for next Tuesday, October 13th, at 8:30 AM! By coordinating directly, I locked in their outpatient rate of $550.00, bypassing the specialist's inflated pricing entirely.
The COVE will automatically zip the digital results straight over to his primary team at Midwest Veterinary Specialist on Layton Ave. From there, his surgeon will review the precise margins of the pea-sized mass and officially set his surgery date under their much more manageable $4,100 to $4,800 estimate. Chase is back home resting comfortably on his favorite spot on the couch, completely pain-free and happy. Thank you all for standing by us—we have a winning plan, our savings are protected, and Chase is getting top-tier care! ❤️🐕

Chase Update: Moving Past a Setback and Heading to a Specialist Next Monday! 🐾
I wanted to give everyone a transparent update on Chase’s journey. Late last week, we faced a deeply frustrating setback. I rearranged my entire work schedule and drove across the city for a scheduled surgery consultation at a local clinic, only to be told in person that they do not perform tumor removals at all—despite what I was promised over the phone. While it was an incredibly stressful day, I successfully stood my ground and got my deposit fully refunded.
But we are not letting that stop us! Chase is caught early at stage one, and his chest and belly X-rays are still 100% CLEAR of spread, which means we have time on our side.
Today, I successfully locked in a brand-new appointment for next Monday, October 5th, with a board-certified Soft-Tissue Veterinary Surgery Specialist right in Wauwatosa! This new clinic is incredibly close to where I work, meaning the drive will be easy and stress-free. Even better, local friends in my community stepped up today and collected enough cash to completely cover the specialist's consultation fee out of pocket!
To keep Chase perfectly happy and stable this week, his primary vet just started him on a daily dose of Rimadyl (an anti-inflammatory), which he took easily with his dinner tonight. He is resting comfortably on the couch, completely pain-free. We have a rock-solid, professional path forward for next Monday. Thank you all for staying in our corner—Chase and I are taking this one victorious step at a time! ❤️

🚨 AMAZING NEWS FOR CHASE: His X-Rays Are 100% Clear! 🚨
What a relief today. We just got back from the vet, and Chase’s chest and belly X-rays came back completely normal—the cancer has NOT spread! Because we caught this early at stage one and the tumor is only pea-sized, he is an excellent candidate for a curative surgery.
Even better news: I was originally facing a specialty clinic estimate of up to $4,800, which was completely out of reach. But because his X-rays are clear, I was able to find a wonderful, highly-rated local hospital—Milwaukee Animal Hospital—that is able to perform this type of tumor removal for maybe half that cost!
Chase is officially on the books for his surgical consultation this Friday morning at 10:30 AM to get our final localized quote and timeline.
We went from feeling completely stuck to having a real, achievable path to saving Chase's life. Any amount you can donate or share helps us cross this new, much smaller finish line. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for being in our corner—Chase and I are not fighting this alone!
