Churro is our young, energetic Kelpie mix who came into our lives after we adopted him as a puppy from the SaN Antonio Humane Society. He is nearly 80 pounds of personality—playful, vocal, loving, and always ready for an adventure. Watching such an active dog struggle with his hind leg has been heartbreaking, but he continues to greet every day with excitement and love.

Churro has been diagnosed with a luxating patella grade 4, meaning his kneecap slips out of its normal position. This causes limping, stiffness, pain, and difficulty bending or bearing weight on his hind leg. Because he is young, surgery was initially delayed until his growth plates developed. He now needs corrective surgery to restore stability and mobility.

Churro is more than a pet—he is family. He is a young, energetic, affectionate dog whose big personality brings laughter and love into our home every day. It is heartbreaking to watch him struggle when he should be running, playing, and enjoying life. His recovery would give him the chance to be the happy, active dog he was meant to be. He came at a time we needed him more than he needed us.
