When Paws & Claws Animal Welfare Society stepped in, these cats were facing a frightening future. Their numbers were growing, illness was spreading, and the community had threatened drastic measures—including poisoning the cats or abandoning them in the desert. Thankfully, they were given another option. A humane one.
With the help of your support, Paws & Claws has been able to provide these vulnerable community cats with the veterinary care they needed while working with the community to create a sustainable solution.
Cats have received spay and neuter surgeries, vaccinations, deworming, flea prevention and much-needed dental care. These treatments don't just improve the lives of the cats who receive them—they help prevent the cycle of overpopulation and suffering from continuing.
And perhaps most importantly, these cats have been given the opportunity to remain safely where they are. Instead of being poisoned or dumped somewhere unfamiliar and dangerous, they can continue living in their territory with the support of a humane population-management plan.
This is exactly what rescue should look like: finding a way to protect animals while working with communities to create solutions that can actually last.
We are so grateful to everyone who donated and helped make this possible. Your generosity didn't just pay for veterinary procedures.
There will always be more cats who need Paws & Claws, but because of you, these cats are healthier, safer and have a future.
Thank you for standing behind them and for believing that compassion is always a better solution. ❤️
About this campaign
In one residential community, cats have become an overwhelming problem—and many of them are desperately sick.
With the population growing and illness spreading, the community’s HOA and management have threatened to take drastic measures, including poisoning the cats or dumping them in the desert if something isn’t done.
That’s where Paws & Claws Animal Welfare Society stepped in.
Rather than allowing these cats to be harmed or abandoned, the rescue is working directly with the community to find a humane solution. Paws & Claws has made an agreement with management: if the rescue can keep the cats healthy and control the population, the cats will be allowed to remain safely where they are.
That means getting these cats the veterinary care they desperately need while preventing more kittens from being born into an already overwhelming situation.
The rescue is currently working to provide:
Spay and neuter surgeries to humanely control the population
Dental procedures for cats suffering from painful oral disease
Rabies vaccinations
Deworming treatments
Flea prevention
Safe trapping and transportation to veterinary appointments
These may sound like routine veterinary services, but for a rescue already stretched thin, caring for an entire community of cats adds up quickly.
This is about more than controlling a cat population. It’s about preventing suffering and giving these cats a chance to remain safe.
Every spay, neuter, dental procedure, vaccination and parasite treatment brings Paws & Claws one step closer to keeping the cats healthy—and showing the community that humane population management is possible.
Your donation can help make sure these cats are treated, protected and allowed to stay where they belong.
Please donate today and help Paws & Claws Animal Welfare Society keep these vulnerable community cats safe.
