About this campaign
I first heard about Cuddles through an email saying she was a rescue pull from a shelter and was scheduled to be euthanized. The shelter suspected that her jaw was broken and noticed that she had damaged teeth. I immediately asked my rescue to pull her for me so I could take care of her.
When I brought her home and placed her carrier in my room, I sat down on the bed. Cuddles came right over, climbed onto my lap, and curled up next to me. From that very first moment, she stole my heart.
She is one of the sweetest things that has ever happened to me. She loves to play, eats well, asks for lots of love, and purrs constantly. She is also a little bit bossy and I absolutely love that about her.
When I took Cuddles to the vet, there was concern that the mass in her mouth could be cancer. We did a biopsy, and thankfully, it came back negative.
I then took her to a senior vet for a second opinion. The vet explained that she needs dental surgery to remove damaged teeth, as well as surgery to remove the mass. Because of the severe dental disease and infection, her jaw looked as if it were broken.
Now, Cuddles needs both dental surgery and mass removal surgery so she can heal, live comfortably, and continue enjoying the happy life she deserves.
Cuddles gives me hope. She came into my life at a time when I was feeling hopeless and full of self-doubt. Through her, I have learned that we have to live in the present, no matter what is happening around us.
Cuddles is in pain, but she is still full of life. She plays, asks for love, and chooses to enjoy every moment. She was rescued from a shelter, and I don’t want to give up on her. Her condition is treatable. She deserves love, care, and a chance to heal.
She reminds me that love means not giving up when things get difficult. If I gave up on her now, after fighting to save her life at the shelter, then what was the point of saving her in the first place? Cuddles is love, hope, and a reminder to keep fighting.
I am a foster and work with a rescue. Sometimes, I rescue animals on my own and pay to have them treated and fully vetted. But this time, I simply do not have the funds.
I am on a dependent visa and currently cannot work. My husband takes care of all our expenses, and with everything going on, I cannot afford Cuddles’ surgery on my own.
The rescue has been very kind and is helping me by providing a rescue discount. Unfortunately, they are also struggling financially right now and do not have the funds to cover Cuddles’ treatment themselves. I am incredibly grateful for their support and for helping make her surgery more affordable.
I just want to give Cuddles the chance to heal and live the happy, pain-free life she deserves.
