A Tiny Kitten Survived Unimaginable Cruelty. Now He Needs Us

This tiny kitten should have been safe beside his mother, learning how to play, explore, and grow. Instead, he was stolen from her and subjected to horrific abuse by children.

Comet was hit in the eye, injured, and left separated from the only protection he knew. By the time Paws & Claws Animal Welfare received a request for help, this innocent baby was in desperate need of medical attention.

They immediately rescued him and rushed him to a veterinary hospital. What the veterinary team found was heartbreaking. Little Comet's body temperature was dangerously low, and he was suffering from severe dehydration and extreme exhaustion. His eyes were badly swollen, and he could barely open them. Blood covered his tiny face, and the veterinary team worked to carefully clean away as much as they could. He was also bleeding from his nose and required injections to help control the bleeding. Because he was so weak and fragile, he was immediately admitted to the ICU, where the veterinary team is working around the clock to stabilize him and bring his body temperature back to normal.

Right now, Comet is simply too fragile for additional testing. His little body needs time to stabilize before the veterinarians can safely perform the examinations necessary to understand the full extent of his injuries.

We don't yet know everything Comet has endured or what his road to recovery will look like. We do know that he deserved none of this.

He should have been with his mother. He should have been playing. He should have been loved and protected. Instead, he is fighting for his life in an ICU.

Paws & Claws Animal Welfare stepped in because they refused to let this innocent kitten suffer any longer. Now they need our help to give him the medical care he needs to survive.

His veterinary expenses are already mounting, and additional diagnostics, treatment, hospitalization, and care will be needed as his condition develops.
