About this campaign
Elphaba is only about 11 weeks old. He is an active, sweet, affectionate little boy who is eating on his own.
But something is clearly very wrong.
Elphaba was found alone outside someone's window, with no one knowing how he got there. When he arrived at the Queens ACC, he appeared disoriented and seemed unable to see. He was unsteady on his feet and fell toward his left side.
His vision and coordination were not normal, and ACC veterinarians were concerned that he may have suffered a head injury, although other medical causes are possible.
They considered his prognosis uncertain.
Despite everything he has been through, Elphaba has shown that he is a little fighter. He needs our help, however.
NY Cat Warriors has accepted Elphaba into our care from the Queens ACC so that he can receive the veterinary care he needs. His initial medical evaluation and basic care have been completed, including bloodwork, X-rays, parasite treatment, vaccination, and FeLV/FIV testing. He tested negative for FeLV and FIV.
But this is only the beginning. Elphaba needs continued veterinary monitoring and further diagnostic testing to determine what is causing his balance problems and possible vision loss and whether it is treatable.
Your donation will help pay for Elphaba's:
● Neurology and eye specialist evaluation
● Additional diagnostic testing and imaging, as recommended by his veterinary team
● Medications and supportive care
● Safe medical foster care
● Follow-up treatment based on his diagnosis
● Eventual neuter surgery once he is medically stable
Every gift, no matter the size, helps us say yes to a kitten whose medical needs are greater than the resources immediately available to him. He deserves the chance to grow up safe, comfortable, and loved and not to have his future decided before we know what is wrong.
Please donate if you can, and share Elphaba’s story. With the right foster home, proper diagnostics, and compassionate veterinary care, this tiny survivor may have a chance to overcome whatever happened to him, find a loving forever home, and live a long, happy life.
Help us give Elphaba the answers, care, and future he deserves.

Elphaba is one step closer to getting some much needed answers.
His consultation with the specialists at AMC went well, but there is still an important question hanging over this little guy: what is causing his neurological symptoms?
The specialists have recommended additional diagnostic testing to help uncover what may be happening and hopefully give his rescue a clearer picture of what Elphaba needs moving forward. With those answers, however, will come another round of veterinary bills.
When a pet has symptoms without an obvious cause, getting to the bottom of them can take time, specialists, and testing. Elphaba’s rescue is committed to following those clues and giving him every opportunity to receive the care he needs, but they could use some help carrying the cost.
Please consider donating toward Elphaba’s upcoming diagnostics. Every donation helps bring him a little closer to answers and helps his rescue continue moving forward with the testing his specialists have recommended.

Elphaba may be safe in foster care, but there are still so many unanswered questions about what the future holds for this little kitten.
Thankfully, Elphaba isn't letting any of that stop him from enjoying being a kitten. He's having lots of fun playing with his friends in foster care, and it's wonderful to see him getting the chance to play, socialize, and enjoy himself despite the challenges he's facing.
But the symptoms that brought him into rescue were significant. His difficulty with balance and coordination, along with concerns about his vision and hearing, mean that NY Cat Warriors still needs to determine exactly what is happening and what kind of care he may require as he grows.
Elphaba is still so young. He should get to spend his days playing with his foster friends and getting into kitten mischief, not facing neurological concerns and specialty veterinary care before his life has really even begun.
His fundraiser remains open to help NY Cat Warriors with the veterinary care, diagnostics, monitoring, and treatment he may need. Until there are more answers, the rescue has to be prepared for whatever comes next.
Please don't forget about Elphaba just because he's safe, happy, and playing. Getting him out of the shelter was only the first step. He still needs people in his corner to help give him the opportunity to receive the care he deserves.
If you can, please consider donating or sharing his fundraiser. Every contribution helps NY Cat Warriors continue searching for answers for this sweet little boy while he keeps doing what he does best: enjoying life with his foster friends.

Elphaba is settling into his medical foster home, and this sweet little kitten is showing everyone just how much personality he has.
Now in the care of one of NY Cat Warriors’ experienced medical fosters, Elphaba seems happy, active, and wonderfully goofy. He is eating, playing, and enjoying the safety of his foster home, but the concerning symptoms that brought him into rescue are still very much present.
Elphaba clearly continues to have trouble with his gait and coordination, and there are also concerns that his vision and possibly his hearing may be affected. At only about 11 weeks old, there are still so many unanswered questions about what is causing these neurological symptoms and what treatment he may need.
Elphaba has already received an emergency veterinary examination, but this is only the beginning of figuring out what is happening with this little boy. Further diagnostics and specialty veterinary care may be needed to determine the cause of his symptoms and the best path forward. Depending on what those tests reveal, surgery may also become part of his treatment plan, along with the necessary follow-up and aftercare.
For now, Elphaba is exactly where he needs to be: safe with an experienced medical foster who can keep a close eye on him while NY Cat Warriors works to get him the answers he needs.
Your donations will help cover Elphaba’s ongoing diagnostics, veterinary care, and any treatment or post surgical care he may need. There is still a lot we do not know, but this happy, goofy little kitten is not letting his challenges stop him from enjoying life.
Thank you to everyone who has donated, shared his story, and helped give Elphaba the chance to find out what is wrong and what can be done to help him. His journey is just beginning, and your support means so much as NY Cat Warriors continues searching for answers.
