About this campaign
Georgie came into my life as a rescue from Ma, Paws, and Me Pet Rescue. We were fostering dogs during the pandemic and when our last foster pair found their forever home, we realized our house was too empty and we were ready for our own dog. We thought we were going to get a big dog, and instead ended up with this little magical elfin creature and he's perfect.
Georgie has bilateral luxating patellas causing chronic pain and mobility issues. He had bilateral knee surgery at MVS on 3/30/26. Post-op, he developed aspiration-related breathing complications and nasopharyngeal stenosis. UW Veterinary Hospital performed nasal ballooning with stent placement on 8/4/26, followed by stent removal and repeat ballooning. He may need 1–3 more procedures.
Georgie is my heart & soul. Since we adopted him in 2021, he has been my constant companion & a source of comfort through chronic pain, anxiety, and depression. He ended my isolation, helps me get outside and connect with others, & grounds me when I’m struggling. He is my Emotional Support Animal and gives me purpose, hope, & motivation every day. His recovery means getting my best friend back.
Georgie’s care has left us with overwhelming veterinary bills exceeding $10,000, with 1–3 more procedures anticipated. As someone who is unable to work due to disability, this burden is devastating. We're exhausted, but won’t give up. We have more life to live together as a family
