About this campaign
When Gus was found after being hit by a car, RBARI knew the damage to his eye was serious.
At the emergency hospital, doctors discovered that Gus’s eye was beyond saving. What was shocking was that he also had a complete fracture through the front of his jaw.
It was a painful injury, yet somehow Gus had been eating, seeking affection and stealing the hearts of his rescuers. His veterinary team was amazed by how well he was doing despite everything his body had been through.
Gus went into emergency surgery to stabilize his broken jaw with wire and a button. Healing will take at least 6–8 weeks. His ruptured eye was removed, and he was neutered at the same time.
Gus urgently needs you—because emergencies can’t wait for a fundraiser to be complete. RBARI needs your help to cover the cost of Gus’ surgeries to ensure they can continue to say yes to the next critically injured cat who comes through their doors.
