About this campaign
Iggy was surrendered by his former owner as a tiny puppy after she realized his extensive medical needs were more than she could manage. Initially believed to be deaf and blind, Iggy was soon diagnosed with suspected hydrocephalus, a serious condition in which excess fluid accumulates in the brain, causing dangerous pressure and neurological complications.
With medication, Iggy initially made remarkable progress. He regained his vision, became more coordinated, and blossomed into a playful, curious puppy who loved exploring his surroundings. His rescuers were hopeful he could live a relatively normal life.
But everything changed when Iggy suddenly became disoriented and suffered a major seizure. He lost his ability to walk normally, began circling uncontrollably, and eventually collapsed. His rescuers rushed him to emergency care, beginning a heartbreaking journey through multiple specialty hospitals.
After being transferred to Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital, an MRI revealed devastating news. Iggy’s hydrocephalus was so severe that he lacked sufficient brain tissue to undergo the surgery that might otherwise have helped him. With his prognosis extremely guarded, his veterinary team began aggressive treatment for possible meningitis, including chemotherapy, alongside medications to manage his symptoms.
But Iggy wasn’t ready to give up.
After returning home, this determined little fighter slowly began regaining his strength. He started walking again, and over time, his uncontrollable circling began to subside. Today, Iggy is showing encouraging neurological improvements and responding well to his ongoing treatment.
His journey is far from over. Iggy requires round-the-clock monitoring, seizure medication, pain management, prednisone, and other essential medications to keep him comfortable and stable. His medical care has already resulted in more than $11,200 in veterinary expenses, and his rescuers are doing everything possible to give him the quality of life he deserves.
Iggy may be tiny, but his will to live is extraordinary. Every step he takes is a victory, and every day he continues fighting is a reminder of just how resilient this special little boy truly is.
Please consider donating to help cover Iggy’s lifesaving medical care. Your generosity will help ease the enormous financial burden on his rescue and allow them to continue giving this brave puppy the care, comfort, and fighting chance he deserves.
Iggy has never stopped fighting. Let’s show him he doesn’t have to fight alone. ❤️
