About this campaign
At only three weeks old, John B was already fighting for every breath.
John B is just a tiny neonatal puppy, but his first few weeks of life have already brought a frightening medical emergency. He had been battling an upper respiratory infection when his condition suddenly became much more serious. He stopped eating and began struggling to breathe, prompting Husky House to rush him to the emergency hospital.
Veterinarians discovered that John B's upper respiratory infection had progressed into pneumonia, an infection that causes inflammation and fluid to build within the lungs. For such a young puppy, who is still incredibly small and vulnerable, pneumonia can quickly become life-threatening.
The antibiotics John B had already been receiving were no longer enough to control the infection. He needed to be admitted to the ICU, where his veterinary team could provide stronger IV antibiotics, oxygen therapy, and around the clock supportive care while closely monitoring his breathing and overall condition.
John B has been responding to treatment and moving in the right direction, but he isn't out of the woods yet. At only three weeks old, his little body is being asked to fight a serious infection while he still depends on intensive veterinary support to help him through it.
Despite how tiny he is, John B is proving himself to be a fighter. Husky House believes his young life is worth fighting for, and they are giving him the intensive care he needs rather than giving up on him because of the expense.
Donations to John B's fundraiser will help cover his emergency treatment, ICU hospitalization, oxygen therapy, IV antibiotics, and continued veterinary care as he fights pneumonia. His condition remains serious, and every additional day of intensive care adds to the cost of giving this tiny puppy the chance to keep fighting.
