Meet Kook, an adorable 9-year-old Labrador Retriever from Massachusetts who has been diagnosed with diabetes. Kook needs follow-up Blood Glucose and Fructosamine Level monitoring. His diabetes maintenance—costs approximately $214.20 per visit.

Kook's Story

“Kook will be 10 years old on September 26th. We brought him home at just 14 weeks old after our daughter had been asking for a dog, and he quickly became an irreplaceable part of our family. He has grown up with our children and is now just as loving, patient, and protective with our grandson.

At the beginning of this summer, Kook’s health began to decline. At first, we thought he may have been depressed from changes at home, but as things got worse, we learned that he has diabetes. He now needs insulin twice a day, with a new vial costing about $90 every 10–14 days.

Our family is currently facing financial hardship, and it is heartbreaking knowing Kook’s care depends on what we can afford. We are hoping to raise $1,080 to help cover about six months of his insulin while we work toward getting back on our feet.

Kook has given our family nearly 10 years of unconditional love, and we want to give him every chance at a long, healthy life. Any help, no matter the amount, would mean so much to our family.”
