About this campaign
💔 A tiny girl with so much love left to give.
Our sweet Lady Bird came to Winter’s Grace Animal Rescue after spending almost her entire life with one family. At an age when she deserves comfort and familiar arms, she is adjusting to a new home while facing some heartbreaking health concerns.
We immediately noticed nodules on her chest. After examining her, our vet advised us that she has severe mammary cancer. She was never spayed.
Cataracts have severely impaired her vision. Her hearing is gone, and nearly all of her remaining teeth are chipped. Bloodwork also raised concerns about possible early kidney failure. We will repeat her bloodwork in a month, hoping for improvement. Depending on those results and her veterinarian’s assessment, hospice care may become the kindest path for her.
But Lady Bird still has so much joy in that tiny body. ❤️
She paws gently at our legs, asking to be picked up. She follows us like a little shadow, curious about everything we do. And when she gets the chance to run, she takes it.
She cannot hear us tell her we love her, but we hope she feels it every time we lift her into our arms.
We cannot promise her a cure or know how much time we will have together. What we can promise is that she will be cherished, kept comfortable, and given care guided by what is best for her.
Until then, she will remain on her little throne here at the rescue—because this tiny queen deserves to be treasured. 👑🐾
If you’re able, please help us care for Lady Bird. Your donation will help with her veterinary visits, repeat bloodwork, and ongoing medical and comfort needs.
Her next chapter is uncertain. Let’s make sure it is filled with love. ❤️
