Baby Lexxi Escaped Euthanasia and Now Needs Help

At just 8 weeks old and only about 8 pounds, Lexxi came frighteningly close to losing her life before it had even really begun.

Lexxi found herself on the euthanasia list at BARC in Houston due to her orthopedic needs. Montana’s Pack Rescue stepped up and saved her just in time when no one else would. This tiny puppy is finally safe—but now she needs help healing.

Lexxi has an injury to her right hind leg that is causing her to noticeably limp. There is also a firm area of swelling near the top of her leg, raising concerns that she may be suffering from a dislocation or another orthopedic injury. She needs a thorough veterinary evaluation and imaging to determine exactly what is wrong and what treatment will give her the best chance at a pain-free future.

It’s heartbreaking to think that a puppy this young was facing euthanasia while also struggling with an untreated injury. Lexxi should be learning how to play, exploring the world, and discovering what it feels like to be loved—not fighting for her life.

Thankfully, Montana’s Pack Rescue said yes when Lexxi had no one else. They gave her the second chance she desperately needed, and now they are committed to getting her the medical care she deserves.

Funds raised through Lexxi’s Waggle campaign will help cover her veterinary examination, X-rays and other imaging, medications, treatment for her injured leg, and any additional medical care recommended by her veterinary team.

Lexxi has already survived the hardest part: getting out of the shelter alive. Now she needs a community behind her as she begins the next chapter.
