About this campaign

Title: Help Lola Live Without Ear Pain

Goal: $5000 per ear

Meet Lola, a sweet 3-year-old French Bulldog mix. We adopted her from City of Albuquerque Animal Welfare in October 2026, and she has been part of our family ever since.

When she came into the shelter, the vets found a severe, chronic infection in both of her ears. The infection has gone untreated for so long that tissue has grown over and completely blocked both ear canals. The shelter tried ear medications, then added antibiotics, steroids, and pain medication, but none of it could reach the infection. We knew all of this when we brought her home, and we chose her anyway, because she deserves a chance at a life without pain.

What Lola needs

The treatment for ears this damaged is a surgery called a total ear canal ablation (TECA). The surgeon removes the diseased ear canals, which removes the source of the pain and infection for good. Lola needs it on both ears. The cost is estimated at $5000 per ear, which we can’t cover on our own right now.

Where your gift goes

Every dollar goes to Lola’s surgery: the exam and scan before surgery, the operation, her hospital stay, and her pain medicine and antibiotics afterward. [Waggle only: Donations go directly to her veterinary hospital, not to us.]

How you can help

  • Donate any amount. Even $10 or $20 adds up quickly.

  • Share this page with friends and family.

  • Keep Lola in your thoughts. We’ll post updates and photos as she heals.

Lola is young and otherwise healthy, and the surgeon expects her to do well after surgery. With your help, she can finally rest her head on a pillow without hurting.

Thank you for helping our girl,
Sharon, Robert, and Lola

Lola is special because of how much love she still has to give, even after everything she’s been through. She spent much of her young life with ears so infected that tissue grew over and closed both canals. That kind of pain would make most dogs grumpy or withdrawn, but Lola isn’t. Even at the shelter, her vets described her as active and friendly. She still [greets us at the door / wiggles her whole body when she’s happy / curls up next to us on the couch].

We adopted Lola knowing she was sick, because we could see the sweet girl underneath all that pain. She snores like a little bulldog , follows me from room to room , loves her toys and belly rubs, she has already made our house feel like home.

Lola is only 3, and she has her whole life ahead of her. All she’s missing is the chance to live it without hurting. Helping her get this surgery means she can finally be the happy, comfortable dog she was always meant to be.

Lola is a sweet, friendly 3-year-old who has been in pain for most of her life. Both of her ear canals are completely blocked from years of untreated infection, and medication can no longer help her. Even so, she still greets everyone with a wagging tail and so much love to give.

Everyone who meets Lola falls for her and wants to see her get better. Even the shelter staff who cared for her were rooting for her to find a family who would get her the help she needs. Now friends and family are stepping up too, but the cost of her surgery is astronomical.

With your help, Lola can finally live the comfortable, happy life she deserves.
