About this campaign
My boy is Luke, and he’s turning eleven this Saturday. I brought him home eleven years ago when I was just hoping for a little friend. I walked into a pet store, saw him in the cage looking right at me, and I knew right away he was mine. I couldn’t leave without him. It was my first time having a pet, so I was nervous and overjoyed all at once. Since that day he’s been my best friend. When I’m sad he’s right there licking my tears. He’s the most loyal companion I’ve ever had, and I’d do anything for him. That’s why I’m reaching out now. He needs urgent care and I want to give him every chance to get better. Thank you for helping me take care of my baby boy.
Hi everyone, my name is Mary and this is my baby Luke who turns eleven this Saturday 10/3. Yesterday he was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease that came on suddenly. The vet said it’s genetic in Yorkies and he’ll need steroids for the rest of his life to manage it. I rushed him to the emergency vet right away and the estimated bill is $10,000. I didn’t have pet insurance at the time, and I’ve learned that new policies won’t cover this as it’s considered pre-existing. I’m a teacher and I’m using every bit of my savings to cover his care, but I can’t do it alone. Any amount helps and goes directly toward his vet bills and ongoing medication. If you can’t donate, sharing this page means the world to us. He’s my family and I’m doing everything I can to give him the years he deserves. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading this and for any support you can give.
My baby Luke is special because he has brought happiness to me and my family in every sense of the word. He was our first dog. He came to our lives 11 years ago and I love coming home to a kiss and much love that he gives me expecting nothing in return. He is and has been my loyal friend and I would do anything to make him happy and make sure he is ok and lives a happy life.
My dog turns eleven this Saturday, and right now he needs us more than ever. Today the vet told me he needs to start chemotherapy immediately. The goal isn’t because they suspect cancer, they don’t. They’re doing it to help his body start producing platelets again. He has an autoimmune condition where his body has stopped making enough platelets. This treatment will help his bone marrow release and produce them so he can recover faster. They’re planning to do the first dose today and will also check his stomach to rule out any tumors, but they don’t suspect cancer at this time. The estimated cost for all his care is around ten thousand dollars. I’m a teacher, and I’m using every credit and resource I have, but this amount is far beyond what I can cover alone. I’m asking for your compassion and support to help give him the care he needs. Any amount helps, and if you can’t give, sharing this would mean the world to us. With your help, I know he can get through this and have more birthdays ahead. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Sincerely,
Mary
