Help Mac get Surgery — Brooklyn, NY

About this campaign

As I left my apartment building, at my gate there was a cat meowing at me, as if I was the one that put him outside. At his insistence, I went back up to get him a treat when he started to follow me upstairs. Knowing a storm was coming, I let him follow me to the chagrin of my other 3 cats.

Keeping him separated from my cats, we made an appointment at VCA Staten Island Animal Hospital. After blood work and a rabies shot (he had a fever so couldn't get him neutered) we found out that he has a heartworm, is dehydrated and malnourished. The initial visit cost is almost $400 and all of the rest is going to run us anywhere from $1600-$2200.

Mac's personality showed from the moment we met. He is not afraid to meow at you until you pay attention to him. He is sweet and let's you pet him on the head, but anywhere else is a no. Maybe it's due to his ailment, he may be in pain. He gets along with one of the other cats, Inky. The other 2 are tolerating him LOL. He loves attention and let's you kiss his head.

My family loves animals, but we simply can't afford the expense, not with 3 other cats. We want to find him a good home, but don't think anyone will take him knowing he needs surgery. I'm hoping once it is done we can get him placed in a loving home.
