About this campaign
At 12 years old, Mel-Mel should be spending his golden years feeling safe, comfortable, and loved. Instead, when he was transferred to South Carolina Community Cat Project from Spartanburg County Pet Resource Center, he arrived with severe dental disease that was causing pain and putting his health at risk.
For cats, serious dental disease isn't just a cosmetic problem. Painful, infected teeth can make eating difficult and can significantly affect their overall well-being. Mel-Mel needed extensive veterinary care to give him the relief he deserved.
On August 20, 2026, Mel-Mel underwent anesthesia and a thorough dental procedure, including scaling and polishing and a staggering 16 dental extractions.
His treatment also included pre-anesthetic bloodwork, antibiotics, and multiple forms of pain control to keep him comfortable throughout his recovery.
The total cost of Mel-Mel's necessary dental care was $489.30—and South Carolina Community Cat Project has already paid the bill.
Now they're asking the Waggle community to help replenish the funds they spent on Mel-Mel so they can continue saying yes to other cats who desperately need veterinary care.
After living with painful dental disease, Mel-Mel finally has a chance to eat, heal, and enjoy his life without the constant pain he had been carrying.
A donation of any size will help South Carolina Community Cat Project recover the cost of his treatment and put those funds back toward helping the next vulnerable cat who needs them.
Please help us give Mel-Mel's rescue the resources to keep saving cats. ❤️🐱
Your donation can help turn 16 painful teeth into a much more comfortable future for this sweet senior boy.
