About this campaign
Loving and Sweet Girl
Mango is just three months old but she has gone through so much in her young life. We first got her and she was the sweetest, happiest little 8-week old labradoodle. She immediately jumped into my wife's arms. She doesn't just wag her tail, she wags her entire body. She even brought so much joy to the hospital staff. She has so much more love to give to anyone who meets her.
The very next day after picking up Mango, she spiked a high fever. She spent the next two days in the hospital. They didn't know what it was. She was put on steroids and it wasn't until we tapered them weeks later, did she have another episode. With much examination, it was found that she has a rare condition called Hypertrophic osteodystrophy (HOD), a bone disease dogs can eventually grow out of.
We were told by the vet that this is a condition she can grow out of once she fully matures. The vet said we should keep fighting for her, because she can go on to have a healthy and long life. Mango was the last dog in her litter and we chose her. She was meant to be with our family. For some reason, we were meant to have this dog- meant to fight for her. She has so much more love to give.
We never expected to undergo the amount of money these bills call for just within the first month of ever owning a pet. We are willing to try every avenue and go down every path to figure this out. When we keep the relapses under control, Mango can live out a beautiful life.
