About this campaign

Melvin is a wonderfully good boy. He’s slowed down a bit in his older age but still loves to go on walks and loves to play when he gets the gumption. He loves churus, greenie cat treats, tuna, and the occasional dose of catnip.

Melvin showed some signs of discomfort and extreme lethargy which came on rather quickly. This coupled with decreased food intake and bathroom visits made me incredibly worried. I got him to the vet as soon as I could and they found that his heart is enlarged and he has some fluid on his lungs. We’ve begun 5 medications to combat these issues but the vet would like to pull off the liquid from his lungs and do an EKG.

Now that I’ve had Melvin for 16 years it is very tough to imagine life without him. He always greets me when I get home and is always ready for pets and love. Neighbors love to give him a few pets and always remark how well he looks for his age. We’ve been through some ups and down these last 16 years but he has always been so quick to get comfortable and provide the best companionship.

The initial vet visit was around $1200 which was a lot for me. I’m halfway through an apprenticeship but not quite making the big bucks. I’ve donated to Waggle before and would only reach out if I absolutely needed the help. Thank you for reading.
