About this campaign

As a widow who has spent most of my life working and caring for the well-being of everyone around me, she came into my life and gave me a reason to keep going. Her unconditional love has been profoundly fulfilling, and I cannot imagine my life without her. She showed me that I am worthy of being loved, and her joyful presence reminds me every day that life is a new opportunity to give and share that love.

She was diagnosed with a congenital extrahepatic portosystemic shunt (liver shunt). A CT angiogram confirmed an anomalous vessel bypassing her liver, causing atrophy, severe GI distress, nausea, and dangerous 48-hour hunger strikes. Thankfully, her prognosis is excellent: surgery with an ameroid constrictor can close the shunt, restore blood flow, allow her liver to regenerate, and give her a normal life.

Mila Sasha was planned for over two and a half years. Our special bond feels deeply connected to my late husband, who was born on the same date as her. I cherish this as a sign of the promise he made—that I would never be alone. As my 80-year-old mother’s sole provider and caregiver, Mila’s presence gives me strength, love, and purpose.

I have spent over $5,000 on the testing needed to find answers and have exhausted my CareCredit account. I would give everything to see her healthy, but I have reached my financial limit. She is so young, and this surgery can give her a healthy future. Any assistance will go directly to her hospital care. Please help me give her that chance.
