About this campaign
Milo is a 2-year old Maltipoo who means the absolute world to me. I went through a phase of depression in my life when my first dog passed with cataracts. Now it breaks my heart to think that Milo could lose his sight as well - at only two years old. He is such a loving, happy, and active dog, and I want to give him the best chance possible to continue seeing, playing, and enjoying life.
Recently, I noticed that one of Milo’s eyes had become cloudy. I took him to the Hospital, where he was examined by an ophthalmology specialist and diagnosed with cataracts. Because Milo is still so young, the specialist recommended cataract surgery as soon as possible to help preserve and restore his vision. Central Hospital in North Haven, Connecticut will be helping us with his operation.
Milo isn’t just my dog—he is a my second son of my family. He has given me so much love and happiness after my first dog passed away living half his life with cataracts as well. I am a single mother with an only child in college, and I want to do everything I can to give him the chance to keep seeing the world around him - so he can know his family is by his side forever.
I work full-time and do everything I can to care for Milo and my son. I am amongst the top 5 employees who clock in the most amount of overtime hours. This unexpected medical expense has placed a significant financial burden on me.
