About this campaign

Nova is a six-year-old Heffalump Princess Pot-a-Puss. The vet told me she is an American Staffordshire Terrier, but we just call her a heifer around here. She came to us right before I popped out my third one. I told that daddy he had three days to rehome her. Then I done fell in love with her. When them kids started crying and begging to keep her, I couldn’t say no. Turns out she’s the best darn dog I’ve ever had.

We took her to real good doggy doctor cuz she got these big lumps all in her mouth. They were real little at first, but had just blown up in the past year or so. They look like some sort of big ol’ polyps that are covering her back teeth and starting to bleed real bad. The vet said it was the worst case she’d ever seen and she needs to get them polyps cut out real soon. She had some big long fancy name for what it was called and another big ‘ol long name for the surgery Nova needs. I just looked it up. A GINGIVECTOMY. We took her to a real nice place, Johnson Animal Clinic in the city.

Nova is such a good girl and isn’t just my dog, she’s my best friend and a huge part of our lives. She runs around with them kids and gets all their energy out so they aren’t acting a fool inside the house. They like to play tug-of-war with sticks from the burn pile out back. Nova usually wins. She’s strong as an ox but wouldn’t hurt a flea, unless someone came up on us. I’m rightly sure she would protect and defend her flock if push came to shove. She’s a good guard dog. We know if something’s amiss outside cuz Nova tells us with a BIG bark. It’s usually just that dang donkey running around. Her and Ed have a love hate relationship. Nova has five 4-legged sisters and one brother (my babies). Pretty sure them kiddos love this dog more than they love me sometimes. Like I said, Nova ain’t just a dog to us, she’s apart of our pack.

Well, they say it takes a village and we need help from y’all. We live paycheck to paycheck. We just don’t got that extra money right now. Nova is a member of our household and we gots to find a way to get her that surgery. So we’re asking for your help because that’s what a community does, we help each other when times be getting tough. I appreciate and thank yall if you do decide to help our sweet Nova girl get this surgery.
