About this campaign
Poppy was my 15th foster dog. Every single foster was perfect and amazing, but Poppy was my home. She is my best friend, my coworker, my everything. If you're having a bad day, Poppy is there to lay on top of you until you're laughing so much your belly hurts. If you just want to sleep in until 2pm, Poppy is right there with you. She has changed my life.
Poppy suddenly lost all functionality in her back legs, and within 24 hours, she lost all sensations in all of her paws. I’m facing an unimaginable hurdle to fund life saving surgery. She is unable to walk and has lost all control of her bladder and bowel. Friendship Hospital for Animals vets believe she has a herniated disc but to do MRI first before emergency surgery.
After fostering 14 dogs I adopted the love of my life, Poppy. Over several months, I saw my nervous foster dog come out of her shell. Every day she tries to merge into my soul with her snuggles and love. In our first year together we have had countless adventures, cuddles, laughs, and unfortunately some cries as well. She has become my best friend and I can’t imagine life without her.
I'm facing an impossible reality of putting Poppy down if she doesn't get this life saving surgery. I don't have pet insurance so her bill will be anywhere between $18k-$24k. I've taken out loans that the hospital accepts but it's still not enough. I need to save my baby.
