About this campaign

Kiniza came into the care of Baw Baw Animal Welfare suffering from a troubling skin condition that desperately needed attention.

With her health uncertain, Kiniza was brought to Dr. Pet Hospital for testing. Her veterinary team first needed to rule out two serious illnesses: canine parvovirus and distemper. Thankfully, both tests came back negative—a huge relief for everyone caring for her.

Based on her examination, veterinarians believe he is suffering from fungal dermatitis, a skin infection that can cause significant irritation and discomfort if left untreated. Kiniza has now started oral medication along with treatments applied directly to her skin to fight the infection and give her damaged skin a chance to heal.

Her recovery will require consistency and time. She will need regular topical treatments, careful hygiene, and a follow-up veterinary visit to make sure the infection is responding and her skin is improving.

Baw Baw Animal Welfare is committed to seeing her through that process, but every examination, test, medication, and follow-up adds to the cost of giving Kiniza the care she needs.

The good news is that Kiniza has started treatment. Now, we want to make sure she can finish it.

Please consider donating toward Kaniza's veterinary care. Your support can help provide her medications, continued treatment, and follow-up care so this sweet girl can leave the itching and discomfort behind and get back to simply feeling like herself again.

Kiniza is continuing to receive care for her skin condition, and we’re happy to share that she is otherwise doing well. ❤️

Her appetite and water intake remain normal, and she is urinating and defecating normally. She is also actively present in the sanctuary, where her caregivers can continue monitoring her closely and making sure she receives the care she needs.

Kiniza’s skin rash is still being treated, and her care team is continuing her prescribed treatment to help her skin heal and improve. While recovery from a persistent skin condition can take time, staying consistent with treatment is an important part of getting her back to feeling comfortable.

For now, Kiniza is safe, receiving care, and surrounded by people committed to helping her through her recovery. Thank you to everyone who has supported her journey and helped make her ongoing treatment possible. Your continued support means so much as Kiniza works toward healthier skin and a happier, more comfortable futur
