About this campaign

Puffy is my best friend and the best cat I’ve ever known. She is as sweet as cotton candy, loves belly rubs and cuddles. She is my favorite cat and her favorite person is my son . She has helped his autism in so many ways she treats him like her baby. She was born into our family, her mom was given to me and ended up being pregnant. Puffy and her sister have lived with me their whole lives.

Puffy sustained an injury when she had a fall, she fell from our second story banister, initially nothing seemed amiss. She landed and didn’t cry. She seemed perfectly normal. Yesterday night, I noticed she was urinating outside of the litter box which she has never done before, after looking things up and monitoring her I deemed that this was a medical emergency. I took her. Vet quoted me $1195

Just like having a child, a pet is part of your family. Our bond to her is mutual she shows us how much she loves us daily. I love her and I couldn’t imagine my family without her in it. My son loves her so much he would be devastated beyond any typical grief that you or I could ever experience because he’s on the spectrum. We’re so worried about her and just want her to be okay.

We are a one income household living at the poverty line with a special-needs child. We barely could afford the $120 to have her seen at the vet office today and when they told us the scope of care and what it would entail and how much it would cost, my heart dropped.

Yesterday, we took Puffy to two rescues/clinics and then to an emergency veterinary hospital in Allen Park after she started straining to urinate and passing blood. The vet performed an ultrasound and found free fluid surrounding her bladder. Fluid in this area usually indicates severe bladder wall inflammation, tissue weeping, or a tear/blockage in her urinary system. Fluid around the bladder can quickly become dangerous or point to a urethral obstruction, she needs urgent diagnostic fluid testing and emergency treatment.
