About this campaign
Reina is a sweet, resilient 2-year-old rescue who came into our lives needing a second chance. Despite everything she has been through, she is incredibly loving and has become part of our family. We have fought hard to give her the safe, happy life she deserves.
Reina is currently at VEG Emergency Hospital after severely injuring her tail. Despite wearing a cone, she was able to reach it and self-amputated her tail down to exposed bone. The ER says she now needs another surgical amputation under anesthesia to remove the damaged portion and safely close the wound.
Reina is a fighter. She came to us already facing challenges with her back leg, but none of that has stopped her from loving, playing and trusting us. Watching her become part of our family has been incredibly special. She deserves the chance to heal and finally live without pain.
Reina’s emergency happened without warning, and her treatment is estimated at $3,870.21. We simply cannot handle this unexpected expense alone. We’re asking our community to help us give Reina the surgery and care she urgently needs.
Updates
August 28, 2026
Reina is still fighting, but her tail injury is very serious. As you can see from the newest photos, the wound is still open with exposed tissue, and she desperately needs the recommended tail amputation to prevent further damage and infection.
For now, we are doing everything we can to keep the area clean, covered, and protected while we continue trying to raise the money for her surgery. We are keeping her comfortable, watching her closely, and making sure she cannot injure the area any further.
