About this campaign

Just days ago, Ren & Stimpy were rescued from a Bronx basement where they had been abandoned. What rescuers found was horrifying. These two boys were covered in urine, feces, fleas and hundreds of maggots. They had been left living in conditions no animal should ever have to endure.

Thankfully, someone finally saw them. The new superintendent of their building could have looked the other way when he discovered Ren & Stimpy. Instead, he immediately began reaching out to rescues, desperately searching for someone willing to help. That someone was NYC Second Chance Rescue.

Stimpy’s condition was especially heartbreaking. His coat had become so severely matted that it had wrapped tightly around his foot and leg, cutting painfully into his flesh. It took hours to carefully free him from the coat he had been trapped inside. And underneath that horrific matting was a deep, open and infected wound.

How long did Ren & Stimpy live like this? How long were they suffering before someone finally noticed them? We may never know. What we do know is that these sweet boys should never have had to experience any of it. And somehow, after everything humans allowed to happen to them, Ren & Stimpy are still incredibly loving.

They seek out affection. They want to be close. They welcome the gentle hands of the people caring for them. There is something especially heartbreaking about animals who have been failed so terribly by humans, yet still choose to trust us.

And now, because people refused to look away, Ren & Stimpy are no longer alone. They are currently hospitalized and receiving the medical care they desperately need. Their bodies have endured unimaginable neglect, and their road to recovery is only beginning.

They need treatment for their wounds and infections, ongoing medical care, medications, nutrition, monitoring and everything necessary to help their fragile bodies heal.

Ren & Stimpy survived. Now they need us to help them heal. Please consider making a donation toward their medical care. Every contribution helps NYC Second Chance Rescue continue saying yes to animals who have nowhere else to turn.

They deserved better then. They deserve everything now.

Donate. Share. Help give Ren & Stimpy the second chance they should have had all along.
