About this campaign
Roxie has been part of our family since she was 2 months old. I saw her at a pet store and instantly fell in love with the cutest little Pomeranian. For 11 years, she’s been energetic, rambunctious, loving, and always ready to greet everyone. She is truly part of our family.
Roxie has diabetes and requires insulin, and cataracts in both eyes are now causing her to lose her sight. She needs cataract surgery on both eyes, which we plan to have performed at the University of Florida in Gainesville. We’re hoping to restore her vision and help her continue living the happy, active life she loves.
At 11, Roxie is still full of energy and life. We recently moved into our first home, and her limited vision makes navigating this new space difficult and frightening. Florida’s bright sunshine is also hard on her light-sensitive eyes. We want her to enjoy her remaining years with comfort, confidence, and the ability to see her family and surroundings.
The surgery will cost $5,000+. We recently moved from a rent-stabilized 1-bedroom in NYC to our first 4-bedroom home for our family of 5, with much higher expenses. We’re asking for help so we can give Roxie the care she deserves. Every donation or share helps.
