About this campaign

Roxie is our 4-year-old mix, just over half German Shepherd with some Husky, Lab, Golden Retriever and Shiba Inu mixed in. She’s sassy and very vocal. When she wants something, she’ll stare you down and go “rowr rawr rowr” until you pay attention. If that doesn’t work, she steals a shoe to get you to play.

In August, Roxie had TPLO surgery for a torn CCL in one of her back legs. The plate started pushing out through her skin, so it was removed in late September. Now the CCL in her left back leg is partially torn too, and she needs a second TPLO. Her care is through West Dakota Vet in Dickinson, ND, and we expect it to cost around $3,500.

Roxie is family to my wife and me. She loves to sprint and play catch, but for a while now, doing either leaves her in pain for days. She’s been through two surgeries, a cone, and a shaved leg in just two months. We want to see her running and playing again on two healthy back legs.

Her first TPLO and plate removal cost about $4,500 in two months. We only covered that with help from family and can’t ask them again. Our vet doesn’t offer a payment plan, and we don’t want her partial tear getting worse while we figure it out.
